Understanding Trauma & the Mind–Body Connection

Trauma can influence both emotional and physical wellbeing. It may shape how we relate to others, how we see the world, and how we respond to stress. For many people, developing insight, building supportive connections and learning healthy regulation strategies can be an important part of moving forward.

In the southwest of Western Australia, Transcending Trauma provides a space for individuals to explore mind–body wellbeing and psychological support in a compassionate and integrated environment. Since 2006, our practice has offered both psychology services (delivered under AHPRA regulation) and a range of complementary holistic modalities to support wellbeing and self-awareness.

Through face-to-face sessions and online Telehealth, Transcending Trauma works with adults, veterans and individuals seeking support for life challenges, emotional distress, and personal growth. Telehealth allows people to access psychology services regardless of distance or mobility.

In addition to psychology services, Transcending Trauma offers mind–body wellness retreats and educational webinars on topics such as emotional awareness, nervous system balance and holistic wellbeing. These programs create supportive spaces for connection, reflection and personal growth, and may include activities such as:

  • mindfulness and meditation

  • gentle breathwork

  • symbolic art-based exploration

  • psychosomatic body–mind awareness

  • feminine embodiment practices

  • yoga and grounding activities

  • qi gong

By offering a broad range of in-person and online options, Transcending Trauma aims to make wellbeing support more accessible and to provide opportunities for individuals to explore personal development in a safe, nurturing environment.

Whether through psychological therapy, holistic practices, or educational programs, the focus remains on providing compassionate support and empowering individuals in their personal wellbeing journey.

Important Notice

Holistic, retreat and psychosomatic services offered at Transcending Trauma are complementary wellbeing modalities and are not psychological therapy, trauma treatment, or clinical mental health services.Psychology services are provided separately under AHPRA regulation by a Registered Psychologist.Retreat participation does not constitute psychological treatment, and Medicare rebates do not apply.”
